Not every wiring application
requires extreme protection against oil, flex cycles or abrasion. In these
cases, it makes both engineering and economic sense to specify cables with more
modest performance characteristics.
To meet the market demand for
less demanding signal and control applications, we have introduced the C 304
and D 304 Series. These data, communication and control cables are intended for
enclosed wiring applications with minimal or no exposure to oil and flex
cycles. For example, RS–232 wiring within control cabinets or other electrical
enclosures represents an ideal application for the 304 Series.
Technical features of these new
300V paired cables include:
• UL&
CSA CMG and AWM approvals. UL CMG allows you to route the cable from the
machine through the infrastructure directly to the control panel.
• Excellent
flame resistance (FT4)
• Shielded
for EMI-sensitive signal, audio, instrumentation control and broadcast
applications.
In the right application, the
304 Series will cost about 30% less than a premium signal and control
cable—such as our Unitronic 300. Keep in mind, however, that the cost savings
applies only to the price of the cable itself. Higher performing wire products,
such as Unitronic 300, will provide a lower installed cost whenever the
application calls for oil resistance, high flex cycles or exposed run
installation.
